Courses and STEM+ Certification


At West Hill C.I. we believe that all students should have access to enrichment opportunities through STEM and the opportunity to develop 21st century skills that are vital for success both in school and in the wider community. 


Our unique STEM+ certification makes this learning accessible to all at West Hill C.I.

  • SNC1WP, MTH1WP, ENL1WP, and BBI1OP (Communication) and/or ALC1OP (Creativity & Innovation)

  • SNC2DP, MPM2DP, ENG2DP, IDC3OP (Engineering & Design-thinking), and one of Business, Technology or Arts credit

  • CHG381 (Social Justice) or GPP3O1 (Community Leadership), or CGF3M1 (Forces of Nature) and one of any Business/Co-Op, Science, Technology, or Arts credit

  • IDC4UP (Environmental, Social and Governance/ Leadership)

Program of Study: Required Courses in Grades 9 to 12

Certification

Student must also complete the following requirements to be eligible for Copper, Silver, Gold or Platinum STEM+Certification:

  • 40 hours of community involvement and participation in at least one STEM+ Project

  • 40 hours of community involvement and participation in at least one STEM+ Project

  • 40+ hours of community involvement, participation in at least 2 STEM+ Projects and 1 year of service in a leadership, mentorship or peer support role.

  • 40+ hours of community involvement, participation in at least 3 STEM+ Projects and 2 years of service in a leadership, mentorship or peer support role.
